Terms of Use
A free tool, provided as is. Use it lawfully, check what you open, and understand the limits of what we can promise.
Last updated
These terms apply whenever you use QR Code Scanner. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The service
QR Code Scanner is a free tool that reads QR codes in your web browser, from your camera or from an image you choose, and shows what they contain. It needs no account and no installation. It is provided as is, and its features may change over time.
Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- use it as part of a scheme to defraud or mislead people, for example by testing or distributing QR codes that lead to fake payment or login pages;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems that host it;
- copy the site, its design, or its text to impersonate it, or present another service as ours;
- break any law that applies to you.
What you open or save is your responsibility
We do not create, host, or vet the content of QR codes, or the sites, apps, and files they point to. A code can lead anywhere its creator chose. The scanner shows you the full link and never opens anything automatically, so the decision to open a link, call a number, send a message, join a network, or save a file is always yours.
Third-party sites and apps
Links, map locations, and email, phone, and messaging actions take you to services we do not control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Availability
The service is free, and we do not promise any particular uptime. Some features depend on your browser and device, such as camera access, the built-in barcode reader, or a flashlight. We may change, limit, pause, or stop any part of the service at any time, without notice.
Intellectual property
The site's design, text, and graphics belong to us. You are welcome to link to any page. Open-source components remain under their own licenses, including jsQR under the Apache License 2.0, Lucide icons under the ISC License, and the Geist font under the SIL Open Font License.

No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that every code will be read, or read correctly, so check a result before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, money, or profits, arising from your use of the service, from the content of any QR code, or from any site, app, or file you open from a result. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
